What is MediaCP and how does it work for video streaming?

MediaCP is the control panel for your streaming server. From the dashboard you manage your live streams, view recordings, analyse statistics and manage users — no technical knowledge required. Ideal for keeping multiple streams and events organised.

What is the difference between RTMP and HLS?

You use RTMP to send video to our servers (ingest) — that is what your streaming software does. We use HLS to stream video to your viewers in their browser or app. So you stream via RTMP to us, and viewers watch via HLS. HLS provides stable, scalable playback with adaptive quality.

How much delay does a live stream have?

With regular HLS streaming there is typically 10–30 seconds of delay — normal for stable, scalable broadcasts. For real live interaction we offer WebRTC streaming with under 3 seconds of delay, ideal for Q&As and interactive events.

Can I record my stream?

Yes. Streams are recorded automatically and kept in your MediaCP account. With DVR, viewers can rewind live (24 hours on Producent, 7 days on Broadcaster). You publish recordings as VOD or download them. Storage depends on your plan: 25 GB, 100 GB or 500 GB.

What software can I use to stream?

Any RTMP-compatible encoder works: OBS Studio (free), Wirecast, vMix, XSplit, or a mobile app like Larix Broadcaster. Your RTMP URL and stream key are in MediaCP and you enter them in your encoder. For professional broadcasts we recommend OBS Studio or vMix.

Is a CDN included?

Yes, your streams run over a global CDN with edge acceleration, so viewers everywhere can watch smoothly and reliably via a server close to their location.

What happens if I have more viewers than my plan allows?

You can upgrade to a larger plan at any time. We monitor your usage via MediaCP and let you know in time when you approach the limit. For broadcasts above 2,000 concurrent viewers we are happy to build a custom solution.

Can I use my own video player?

Yes. You get an HLS stream URL via MediaCP that works in any modern video player (Video.js, JW Player, Plyr and others). That lets you embed the stream seamlessly on your own website with your own styling.

Do I get statistics for my stream?

Yes. Via MediaCP you see real-time and historical figures: viewers at any moment, average watch time, geographic breakdown, devices used and peak viewer counts. The level of detail depends on your plan — from basic to extended reporting.

What quality can I stream in?

You stream in HD up to Full HD 1080p, with adaptive bitrate from 720p. The stream adjusts automatically to the viewer’s connection so everyone watches smoothly. The maximum bitrate increases per plan: 2,500, 4,500 or 8,000 kbps.
